My Journey
About Alison
I’ve lived, worked, and studied as an expat in more than half a dozen countries, including Greece, Spain, the U.K., Afghanistan, and several nations across the Middle East. Having moved over 23 times in my adult life, I’ve become intimately familiar with reinvention, resilience, and the art of transition.
But my story didn’t begin as a global nomad. I was born in the U.S. to two loving, hard-of- hearing parents, growing up at the intersection of the deaf and hearing worlds. Early on, I learned to embrace difference, listen for what isn’t said, and navigate communication barriers with patience and curiosity, skills that would later become central to my work as a coach.
From Engineering to Coaching
My professional path has never been linear. I began with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and started my career designing rocket engines for Boeing and working on the GPS system, while earning my private pilot’s license. I then worked for an architecture firm as a Project Manager, before pivoting to international relations, serving as a Political and Economic Analyst for the U.S. Federal Government.
And yet, something was still missing.
The common thread running through every role, from engineering to international relations, was my fascination not with the systems themselves, but with the people navigating them. I realized my passion lay in helping individuals grow into clearer, stronger versions of themselves.
That discovery led me to coaching. I now use my diverse background to help clients navigate their own complex transitions with confidence.
Global Leadership & Executive Coach
Today, I’m a Global Leadership and Executive Coach with 4,000+ coaching hours and 23 years of international experience across six regions, partnering with more than 400 professionals worldwide. This experience includes working with Fortune 500 companies across the pharmaceutical, software, healthcare, biotech, tech, manufacturing, financial services and food processing industries.
I’ve supported individual contributors, first-time managers, seasoned managers, directors, senior directors and VPs in strengthening their leadership, navigating change and ambiguity, and unlocking their personal and professional potential. I've also partnered closely with expats and expat spouses, helping them build meaningful, grounded, fulfilling lives abroad.
My Coaching Philosophy
Whether you're navigating a major transition or stepping into a new chapter of leadership, I'll help you tap into your strengths, clarify what truly matters, and partner with you as you take bold, achievable steps toward lasting growth.
My work centers on helping you lead yourself, and others, with authenticity, resilience, and purpose. When you align your values and vision with intentional action, you don’t just navigate change, you shape it.
At the heart of my coaching is a simple belief: Meaningful growth comes from change, and you have limitless potential to create the future you want.
"Thriving isn't about blending in perfectly; it's about creating a new version of your life that honors where you came from."
